Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for an Engineering Manager 2 – Structural Analysis for the Melbourne Vehicle Engineering organization, reporting to the Supplier MRB Department Manager in Melbourne, FL on the 9/80 shift, 1st shift.
The manager will lead a growing team of structural analysis engineers and will be responsible for leading all managerial tasks relevant to structural analysis.
The manager will work 80% of their time in the structural analysis engineering discipline, as directed by the Vehicle Engineering program IPT Lead.
The manager will be responsible for establishing, maintaining, and facilitating communications, tasking, scheduling, and technical reviews with each individual contributor’s execution lead in Palmdale, CA. Functional home room support, approximately 20% of the manager’s time will be focused on recruiting, staffing, retaining talent, weekly team meetings, bi-weekly 1:1 meetings, and holding performance review discussions.
Supporting relevant VE Northrop Grumman Aeronautical Systems Community of Practice is expected.

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant STEM discipline and 9 years of related professional/military experience; OR a Master's degree in a relevant STEM discipline and 7 years of related professional/military experience
Demonstrated excellence in the field of structural analysis.
Experience in a technical leadership/management role.
Must have an Active DoD Secret or higher clearance (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance prior to the commencement of employment. This SAP must be obtained within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree and/or an Advanced Degree in Aerospace, Civil, and/or Mechanical Engineering with 10 years of structural analysis experience.
Experience with BTP development, applicable notes, BOM, sign-off process.
Experience with CPLM, Teamcenter, CATIA, NX-CAD, and/or similar CAD packages.
Experience with Staffing Forecasting.
Experience leading an engineering team within a fast-paced, manufacturing environment.
Experience with manufacturing and/or flight test processes.
Experience working Special Access Programs.
