Position Overview:
ARKA's engineering team is looking for a hardware and software Lab Technician to build and maintain the labs and infrastructure used in hardware (HW) and software (SW) development, test, research, and product development teams within the business. The technician will provide feedback to management on processes and resources that will continually evolve and improve the lab capabilities crucial for the continued growth of ARKA. This input contributes to ARKA solutions that are essential to the success of U.S. Space initiatives. The Engineering Lab Technician will work closely with internal groups to define, scope, plan and execute on critical shared lab requirements and needs. This position is located in Colorado Springs, CO.
Responsibilities:
· Support multiple labs at ARKA Colorado Springs
· Organize, inventory, and track tools, systems, cables, workbenches, racks, and storage of mission-critical systems
· Collaboratively define and prioritize lab tasks
· Maintain safe and clean lab(s)
· Work with HW and SW teams to forecast when new lab capabilities will be required so changes can be made prior to project start to reduce/eliminate project delays
· Continuously improve, adapt, and grow lab capabilities and processes
· Work with the facility team to help plan for growth and lab infrastructure additions
· Configure BIOS/UEFI and install Linux operating system on servers
· Configure and start automated tests
Required Qualifications:
· High School degree or equivalent
· Extremely organized, thorough, and detail-oriented
· Understand and properly maintain test equipment (VNA, O-Scope, Spec A, Sig Gen, BER)
· Passionate about fostering good engineering practices and processes
· Willingness to learn new technology, techniques, and approaches
· Experience with Microsoft Office 365
· Ability to obtain required training and security certifications
· May be required to obtain and maintain a security clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
· Experience with the Linux Operating system including installation, setup, and troubleshooting of networks and servers
· Associates of Science or attending school for Computer Science or Electrical Engineering is a plus
· Understanding how SW/FW/HW are interconnected is a plus
· Experience with JIRA and Confluence or similar tools is a plus
· Knowledge of Python, Bash, and Ansible scripting is a plus

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate, listen to, and interpret instructions, operate tools and/or machinery with hands and arms and remain stationary for extended periods of the time. The employee will use protective equipment to work with chemicals, move between workstations, reach, and replace equipment, and move items weighing up to 40 lbs. Pay Range: $25.00 - $27.00 per hour.
