Engineering Intern – Facility Engineering 

Marathon Oil is seeking an Engineering Intern to join the Facilities Engineering Team in our Bakken Asset in Dickinson, ND.  Engineering Interns will contribute to meaningful projects that deliver opportunities and results for both themselves and the company.  The primary work scope will focus on a project or set of projects that will add value to the asset operation whilst increasing the technical knowledge of the successful candidate. Near the end of the assignment, the intern will discuss a summary of his or her work with a panel of Asset Leaders and Engineers.  Development and training opportunities will be available and a mentor will be assigned to provide guidance and support. 

  

Job Duties/Responsibilities 

• Provide general Engineering support to field-based Facility Engineers, partnering to execute on identified projects 

• Preparation and issuance of construction workpacks 

• Support progressing project Management of Change (MOC) within Marathon’s systems 

• Participate in facility walkthrough, Piping and Instrumentation Drawing (P&ID) red lining 

• Identification of production loss root causes, solution development, implementation ownership 

• Participate in Safety Leadership Engagements with field personnel 

Qualifications 

• Candidate must be pursuing a bachelor’s degree within a relevant discipline 

• Must be able to work in Marathon Oil’s Dickinson office and travel to various field locations 

• Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of staff 

• Must be proficient in Microsoft applications 

• Must have strong organizational and time management skills  

• Have the authorization to work for any employer in the U.S. on a full-time, indefinite basis without need for sponsorship now or in the future.
