Engineering Internship

Are you a mechanically-minded engineering student who enjoys figuring out how things work and getting your hands dirty? Dempsey Uniform & Linen Supply is looking for a driven and curious Engineering Intern to join our Maintenance & Engineering team at our flagship plant in Jessup, PA.
This isn’t a desk job—and it’s not about sitting behind a screen running simulations. You’ll be working alongside experienced technicians and engineers to keep our industrial laundry equipment running efficiently. You'll troubleshoot, repair, and maintain systems like steam tunnels, conveyor belts, and washers that are the heart of our operation.

What You’ll Do:

• Work shoulder-to-shoulder with our maintenance engineering team to learn, maintain, and repair mechanical systems
• Assist with equipment inspections, preventative maintenance, and root cause analysis
• Gain experience with pneumatics, motors, pumps, gearboxes, bearings, and more
• Contribute to ongoing improvement projects, including equipment upgrades and process optimization
• Learn how real-world production environments apply mechanical engineering principles every day

Who You Are:

• Pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
• Hands-on, curious, and not afraid to turn a wrench
• Eager to learn in a fast-paced, operational environment
• Strong communicator and team player
• Mechanically inclined and interested in how systems physically operate—not just how they look in a model
