Engineering Assistant (Marine Focus)

Description

The Engineering Assistant role will provide crucial support to the engineering team, assisting with administrative tasks and playing a key role in ensuring the smooth flow of project operations. From organizing vital project documentation to attending engineering meetings. The Engineering Assistant will be maintaining Vendor Furnished Information (VFI), manual coordination, and other duties as assigned.

Duties/Responsibilities:

· Administrative Support: Manage various administrative tasks, including meeting notes/minutes, reviewing engineering invoices, and tracking down answers to inquiries.

· Project Coordination: Attend engineering meetings to understand VFI requirements for projects, track down VFI, and organize and electronically file VFI for multiple projects.

· Documentation Management: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation packages for vessel deliveries, ensuring accuracy and completeness in both digital and hard copy formats.

· Communication Liaison: Serve as a liaison between engineering teams and external vendors, facilitating effective communication and ensuring timely delivery of VFI.

· Technical Proficiency: Utilize MS Office and AutoCAD to support engineering tasks, demonstrating proficiency in blueprint/schematic reading and technical document management.

· Adaptability and Initiative: Demonstrate adaptability and a proactive approach in handling tasks, particularly in a dynamic marine engineering environment.

Competencies:

· Proficiency in MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

· Familiarity with AutoCAD software is preferred.

· Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

· Ability to read and interpret blueprints/schematics or a strong willingness to learn.

· Exposure to the marine industry is preferred, but motivated individuals with technical experience in related fields are encouraged to apply.
