Engineer V - Full Time - Silver Legacy - Day (Reno)

GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Perform all mechanical, plumbing and electrical maintenance throughout property.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (Includes, but is not limited to the following)

• Implement routine maintenance and urgent repair works in accordance with sound engineering practices and occupational health and safety regulations. Closely monitor the effects of servicing and maintenance on their condition wherever possible. Ensure that all records of maintenance and testing are kept.
• Minimum 3-5 years’ experience as a general building repair technician preferably involved in hospitality industry. 
• Worked in the Engineering or Facilities department in relation to general building maintenance 
• Perform preventive maintenance of all mechanical equipment
• Familiar with HVAC systems
• Able to work on Kitchen equipment inclusive with refrigeration
• Certifications/Licenses
• Familiar with Plumbing systems
• Intimate knowledge of all electrical 
• Lamp replacement
• Fixture repair and replacement
• Circuit breaker reset
• Change AC filters
• Hotel Guest room repairs
• Respond to Maximo WO’s
• Support events

PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS: (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities) Excellent communication skills; understand and comply with all hotel and departmental rules, regulations, policies and procedures; skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with staff; read, write and communicate verbally in English; ability to perform basic math; working knowledge of plumbing, electrical and mechanical equipment.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Education:   High School diploma or equivalent.

Experience: Minimum 3 years experience in above duties is preferred.

Certificate/License: None required. 

TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Work may be performed inside and outside in all types of weather conditions, in small areas, such as attics, and high areas such as catwalks, areas that may be unusually hot, cold, noisy, smoky, dimly lit or brightly illuminated.  Work entails use of chemicals, and electrical and mechanical devices.  Constant contact with staff and guests.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS: (May be required in order to perform the essential functions of the position).Requires 90% mobility to include frequent standing, bending and reaching from floor to 6ft., climbing using ladders and stairs; operating equipment such as scissor lifts, forklift, pallet jack; transporting, pushing, pulling, lifting and maneuvering large loads weighing up to 100 lbs., use of hand and power tools.  Requires eye/hand coordination and manual dexterity.  Requires normal sense of smell, touch, and sound.  Requires normal vision range.  Requires the ability to distinguish letters and symbols.  Requires communicating by telephone, beeper and radio.
