Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Engineer Systems Architect / Principal Engineer Systems Architect to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Systems Engineering organization. This role is located in Melbourne, FL.

**This role may be filled at either the Engineer Systems Architect or Principal Engineer Systems Architect, based on qualifications listed below**

The individual will develop system architectures and define key capabilities and performance requirements. The individual will define design and technology maturity constraints of the system in accordance with customer specifications, develop thorough definition of system external interfaces and define system implementation approach and operational concept. The candidate will ensure requirements are met and evaluate performance with customer.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Define system architectures
  • Architecture, CONOPS, and use case development using model-based systems engineering methodologies
  • Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications
  • Execution of trade studies to select from among multiple potential solutions
  • Perform Systems Requirements analysis
  • Management of requirements, include decomposition, allocation, verification, and validation

Basic Qualifications (Engineer Systems Architect) : 

  • Must have a Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) discipline AND 2 years of related professional/military experience, OR a Master of Science degree in a STEM discipline AND 0 years of related professional/military experience, OR a STEM Ph.D. AND 0 year of related professional/military experience.
  • Must have an active DoD Secret or higher clearance (with a background investigation within the past 6 years or enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company.
  • Must have experience with SysML, MBSE Frameworks, Use cases, OR Sequence diagram definition, using MBSE tools such as Cameo.

Basic Qualifications (Principal Engineer Systems Architect) : 

  • Must have a Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) discipline AND 5 years of related professional/military experience, OR a Master of Science degree in a STEM discipline AND 3 years of related professional/military experience, OR a STEM Ph.D. AND 1 year of related professional/military experience.
  • Must have an active DoD Secret or higher clearance (with a background investigation within the past 6 years or enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Top Secret/SCI clearance with experience working on special programs
