Northrop Grumman is currently seeking a software engineer with a focus on modeling and simulation to work at our Northridge, CA. location.
The successful candidate will assist with integrating our C++ based simulation of the AARGM ER missile system into a system of simulations. Our modeling and simulation team is a multidisciplinary team in which each member may have opportunities to work in software development, systems engineering, model and algorithm development, and various types of analysis.
The group is an excellent place for engineers interested in gaining a broad understanding of a missile system. The initial focus of this position will be software development.
Basic Qualifications for a Systems Modeling Simulation. Engineer- (Level 2):
BS degree in software engineering, aerospace engineering, physics, systems engineering, or a related field is required with 2 years of experience or an MS degree in areas above with 0 year of experience is required.
Experience with C++ in the object-oriented paradigm.
Knowledge and experience in scripting with python, BASH, or DOS.
Knowledge or experience in working with compilers directly via a scripting tool or a tool similar to CMAKE.
Understanding of distributed computing (Client-Server architecture, n-tier architecture, peer-to-peer architecture)
Either a sufficient background in physics to understand the basics of flight dynamics and sensors (Material covered in first year engineering physics courses will suffice) or college level coursework in statistics.
**Must have an Interim secret clearance to start.
Preferred Qualifications:
Proficiency in performing analysis with either matlab or python analysis tools (numpy, matplotlib, pandas)
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
Experience with requirements verification and validation, or in performing analysis with python or matlab.
Experience in high performance computing or monte carlo simulations.
Experience in Modeling and Simulation of weapon systems
Proficiency with CAMEO
Experience in Operational Analysis
Experience with AFSIM
Experience in flight dynamics
**Have an active secret clearance, and be able to obtain a SAP level clearance.
