1. PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

The Engineer – Production Planning & Control (PPC) is responsible for planning, scheduling, and controlling production activities to ensure on-time delivery, optimal capacity utilization, and effective material availability. The role ensures smooth coordination between Production, Purchase, Logistics, Quality, and Order Handling functions using SAP PP, while complying with Endress+Hauser Flowtec India’s Integrated Management System (IMS) and global operational standards.

3. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES

3.1 Production Planning & Control

• Create, schedule, release, and monitor production orders in SAP PP in line with customer delivery commitments.
• Perform production order scheduling, sequencing, and printing for shop-floor execution.
• Track production progress, WIP, and deviations; initiate corrective actions where required.
• Participate in daily production meetings and present status of open orders, backlog, priorities, and urgencies.

3.2 Material Planning & MRP

• Execute MRP runs and analyze material requirements for in-house manufacturing and intercompany production.
• Raise material requisitions and support PO creation for intercompany and external procurement.
• Monitor material availability and proactively coordinate with Purchase and Logistics teams to address shortages.

3.3 Capacity & Work Center Management

• Perform capacity planning and capacity leveling using SAP PP tools.
• Create, maintain, and update work centers, including capacity parameters and standard values.
• Coordinate with production teams to define and optimize capacity at each work center.

3.4 BOM, Routing & Change Management

• Maintain and update BOMs and routings in SAP for production orders.
• Support SAP change management processes related to BOMs, routings, and master data.
• Ensure timely and accurate implementation of engineering and process changes.

3.5 Inventory & KANBAN Management

• Set up, monitor, and improve KANBAN processes for material procurement and replenishment.
• Analyze inventory trends (RM, WIP, FG) and take actions to maintain optimum inventory levels.
• Calculate and maintain safety stock levels based on consumption patterns and variability.

3.6 MIS & Reporting

• Prepare and publish daily and periodic MIS reports covering production status, backlog, material shortages, and reasons for delays.
• Use advanced Excel tools (formulas, pivot tables, statistical methods) for data analysis and decision support.

3.7 Cross-functional Coordination & Communication

• Coordinate with Order Handling / Marketing teams to expedite orders, reallocate materials, and manage capacity constraints.
• Assist with creation and maintenance of material master data in SAP.
• Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders in a global, cross-functional environment.

3.8 Compliance, Quality & IMS

• Ensure compliance with IMS requirements including ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and other applicable standards.
• Support internal, external, and customer audits.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and operational excellence projects.
