Pratt & Whitney is a global leader in aviation propulsion and behind many of the major advances in both military and commercial engines. The Engineering organization is divided into four Module Centers, including Hot Section, Compression and Mechanical Systems, Fans and Externals, and Product Delivery. The Module Centers are an extraordinary engineering organization, aligned by component-level hardware in different sections of the jet engine. We design, manufacture and service aircraft engines, auxiliary and ground power units, and small turbojet propulsion products.
What You Will Do
- Pratt and Whitney Hot Section Engineering (HSE) is looking for a highly motivated, goal oriented, detail focused engineer to join its rotational (EDP) Engineering Development Program.
- You have the opportunity to experience three different disciplines (from a choice of Project, Design, Structures, and Durability) during this program and then down select which HSE discipline you would like to permanently join upon graduation from this three year rotational program.
- This position requires demonstrated leadership and a command of typically Mechanical and or Aerospace Engineering foundational knowledge.
- Specific responsibilities will be supporting an Integrated Product Team (IPT) consisting of a cross functional group of Project, Design, Structures, and Durability team members.
- You will need to communicate the status of technical issues, and budgets to CIPT leaders, HSE leadership, internal program offices and external customers.
- You may also need to work closely with purchasing, suppliers, customer support and the sustainment organization to support engine deliveries and respond to field challenges as needed.
What You Will Learn
- This position is a part of our Engineering Development Program (EDP). EDP participants will complete three to four rotations to build technical breadth and leadership abilities before graduating from the program.
Qualifications You Must Have
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related field
- Minimum 3.0 GPA
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
Qualifications We Prefer
- Experience collaborating with a team to develop innovative ideas
- Experience communicating clear and effective messages to a broad audience
