What You Will Do

Columbus Forge, a recognized leader in producing disks for the aerospace propulsion market, is looking for a Forge Process Manufacturing Engineer to support the organization. The Forge Process Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for all aspects of part maturation from raw material to end use.

  • Develop and implement plans that are in line with the business strategy to further our world class technology portfolio
  • Provide operational engineering support to develop technologies and processes which support the growth curve and cost reduction targets
  • Leverage manufacturing innovations to improve cost, delivery, and quality of aerospace disk forgings; assist with problem solving during manufacturing related investigation
  • Own relentless RCCA (Root Cause Corrective Action) for correcting non-conformance in the part families; perform DIVEs (Define, Investigate, Verify, Ensure); implement and monitor corrective actions; monitor and report on the health of a part family; monitoring the non-conformances and how the part ‘runs’ compared to ‘standard’ times
  • Lead the CORE (Customer Oriented Results and Excellence) journey to continuously improve the quality and exceed customer’s expectations; develop disk process using statistical methods that meet or exceed the business objective for process control.

Qualifications You Must Have 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Material Science, or other closely related technical or physical science discipline
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen. This position may require access to systems/tools that are restricted to individuals who possess US citizenship.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (aerospace, manufacturing, mechanical or industrial)
  • Co-op or internship experience
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 preferred

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.

Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.

The salary range for this role is 53,000 USD - 103,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
