Engineer Associate – Software

 

What You’ll Do:

 

• Join a diverse team of skilled engineers conducting leading edge development for the US Air Force.
• Work in a team-oriented environment to use modern and emerging technologies to optimize the next generation of Air Force web-based user interfaces (UI), data processing and event driven applications in a cloud computing environment for Windows and Linux.
• Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
• Perform other duties as necessary.

 

What You’ll Need:

 

• BS degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical field is required.
• Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master's Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
• BS degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related technical field preferred.
• Software development knowledge or experience (full or part-time software work experience, internships, co-ops, or self-initiated projects).
• Knowledge of common programming languages such as Python, JavaScript or C++.
• Knowledge of cloud computing services such as Docker and AWS.
• Knowledge of code versioning systems such as Git.
• Knowledge of Agile software development practices including requirements, design, coding, debugging, unit testing, configuration management and integration.

 

On-Site Work Environment: This position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site three or more days each normally scheduled week in the primary work location. Travel and local commute between Ball campuses and other possible non-Ball locations may be required.
