Endoscopy Technician – Inpatient – GI/Bronchoscopy Procedures

Work Schedule

100% FTE, 40 hours/week. This is a day/evening position with 8-hour shifts scheduled Monday – Friday with start times varying from 6:30 AM – 9:00 AM. On call required, Hours may vary based on operational needs of department.

We are seeking Endoscopy Technician to:

  • Assist physicians or other providers with procedures performed in the gastroenterology endoscopy setting.
  • Prepare and position patients for procedures, assisting providers during endoscopy, including biopsy specimen collection, and polypectomy.
  • Restocking of procedure room supplies and monitoring of supply PAR levels.
  • Troubleshooting of all specialty equipment.
  • Adherence to strict infection control practices and use of personal protective equipment.

 

Education:

Minimum – High School Diploma or equivalent.

Preferred – Formal training or experience in medical specialty (i.e. LPN, MA, Advanced Nursing Assistant)

 

Work Experience:

Preferred – One (1) year of experience in a clinical setting (or) one (1) year of experience assisting in GI or pulmonary medical procedures, basic cardiac monitoring experience.

 

Licenses and Certifications:

Minimum – BLS/CPR certification

 

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of communication techniques, teamwork, customer service standards and quality improvement. 
  • Knowledge of the use of personal protective equipment.

 

Physical Requirements

Medium: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
