About the role

  • Intra-procedural Patient Care
    • Assist physicians or registered nurses in the conduct of basic and advanced endoscopic procedures such as Endoscopic Ultrasounds (EUS), Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP),  and Endo-bronchial ultrasound (EBUS)
    • Collect specimens from patients, using standard medical procedures.
    • Place devices, such as blood pressure cuffs, pulse oximeter sensors, nasal cannulas, surgical cautery pads, and cardiac monitoring electrodes, on patients to monitor vital signs.
  • Reprocessing/High Level Disinfecting (HLD)
    • Clean, disinfect, or calibrate scopes or other endoscopic instruments according to manufacturer recommendations and facility standards.
    • Prepare suites or rooms according to endoscopic procedure requirements.
  • Maintenance of Equipment/Supplies … 5%
    • Perform safety checks to verify proper equipment functioning.
    • Maintain or repair endoscopic equipment.
    • Maintain inventories of endoscopic equipment and supplies.
    • Conduct in-service training sessions to disseminate information regarding equipment or instruments.

 

Positions Requirements: 

  • Experience: Two (2) years of Endoscopy-specific experience
  • Education: High School Diploma and Completion of GI Associate coursework through SGNA every 5 years
  • License and Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Skills and Abilities: effective communication, customer service, interpersonal, planning and organization, active listening, attention to detail, technology and software, direct patient care.
