What You Will Achieve
The Engineering, Maintenance and Utilities (EMU) and Risk management (RM) lead is responsible for ensuring all physical assets at the Sanford facilities are maintained in order to support the execution of all manufacturing and quality operations.
Additionally, the EMU & RM lead is accountable for establishing and maintain robust programs that are sufficiently protective of people, plant and the environment.
The EMU component includes the following aspects across both Sanford and Sanford North:
Maintenance and Reliability
Capital Projects and Masterplanning
Engineering Technology (incl. Automation & Cyber Security)
Utility Operations (including clean utilities)
Engineering Compliance
Integrated Facilities Management (IFM)
The RM component includes the following aspects across both Sanford:
Environmental, Health and Safety
Environmental Sustainability & Net Zero Activities
Site Security
Business Continuity Management & Fire Life safety
How You Will Achieve It
An active member of the Senior Leadership team reporting to the PGS Sanford Site Leader providing strategic direction and leadership for the site.
Sets strategic direction for Sanford Engineering andRM programs in line with Pfizer’s values and business objectives.
Manages, executes, and is accountable for the EMU and RM operational and capital expenditure budgets for both facilities.
Continually evaluates organizational design and structure to ensure optimal service level for both facilities.
Identifies and measures key performance indicators that drive world class facility reliability and program execution.
Utilizing the IMEx production system drive continuous program improvement and waste reduction opportunities.
Develop a diverse and inclusive organization that provides zig-zag growth opportunities at all levels.
Represent Sanford and Sanford North on appropriate network teams; ensure contemporary solutions are incorporated into both facilities.
Proactively engage with above site stakeholders, leadership; external regulators, academic institutions, and business groups inline and to further Pfizer’s objectives.
Leads the EHS program at the site to:
Minimize adverse impact of operations on the environment,
assure the health and safety of company employees, contractors, and visitors
assure effective incident response, including Emergency Preparedness & Response and Investigation
Develops and drives Environmental Sustainability plans, including waste, water and Greenhouse Gas reduction roadmaps for the site.
Develops and enhances the Engineering & EHS teams through effective organizational design, selection, development, succession planning, training, and performance management of all staff.
Develops relationships with above site stakeholders including Global Security, Global EHS, Pfizer Global Engineering, Business Continuity management, Global Occupational, Health & Wellness and EHS professionals within the Pfizer Community of Practice (COP), to ensure program alignment and leverage network resources.
Promote IMEx-TPM and GRP (Global Reliability Program) efforts at the PGS Sanford site.
Take appropriate measures and actions for Quality/EHS audit, Finance audit and other audit/assessment.
Be responsible to maintain license and report to authority about energy usage plan, fire protection etc.
Define Compelling Business Needs for Tier 3 operating unit ensuring alignment with Tier 4 goals.
Owns and develops overall EHS governance structure for PGS Sanford facility; Chair EHS Council.
Ensures effective processes are established to ensure safety reviews of capital projects. Ensures that risk reduction controls are included within the design and project execution.
