How You Will Contribute

The Email Manager serves as the institutional lead for all email communications, overseeing strategy, execution, and performance optimization across departments. This role manages the email platform, centralized calendar, and audience segmentation to drive engagement, attendance, membership, and revenue. The Email Manager ensures brand and messaging consistency while coordinating cross-functional teams and maintaining best practices in email marketing.

Specifically, you will:
 
  • Lead the development and execution of the institutional email marketing strategy and calendar
  • Manage audience segmentation, list health, and performance optimization using data-driven insights
  • Own and administer the email platform (Campaign Monitor), including testing, deployment, and troubleshooting
  • Create, maintain, and update standardized email templates aligned with approved design direction
  • Oversee institutional email lists (e.g., Global, Programs & Events, Kids & Families) and ensure compliance
  • Manage the centralized email calendar, coordinating with departments to align messaging, timing, and cadence
  • Build, format, test, and deploy email campaigns using approved templates and content
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors (e.g., Mail Bakery) to support campaign execution and technical needs
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for email processes, establishing workflows and reinforcing roles across teams
  • Provide guidance to departments on timelines, template usage, and email best practices
  • Ensure consistency in brand voice, messaging, and user experience across all communications

Your background and experience include:
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 3–5+ years of experience in email or digital marketing
  • Experience with email marketing platforms (e.g., Campaign Monitor or similar)
  • Strong project management, organizational, and analytical skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate across departments

Position and Compensation Details
  • The salary for this position is $64,133.
  • This position is Full-Time, Exempt, and 35 hours per week.
  • This position is part of the AFSCME Local 397 bargaining unit.
  • This position reports to the Director of Marketing.
  • This position is required to be performed fully onsite at Philadelphia Museum of Art locations.
