We are seeking an entry-level Electronics Design & Test Engineer to join our Farmington Hills, MI team.
This role is responsible for developing electrical systems and components that support electrification, autonomous driving, and connected services. Key areas of responsibility include overseeing body electronics systems and ECUs, such as the Gateway, a core Electrical Control Unit (ECU) essential for enabling innovative technologies. Additionally, the role involves ensuring customer safety through passive safety ECUs and introducing new features to enhance customer experience via body control modules and intelligent key systems. The position also requires managing and ensuring project quality, cost, and timely delivery in collaboration with suppliers, cross-functional teams, and the global Nissan Research & Development Team (R&D) team.
A Day in the Life:
Design and Management: Responsible for designing and managing the application of electrical systems and components to meet program targets for cost, quality, development, and delivery timing.
Test Plan Development: Develops test plans aligned with system/component and vehicle development plans and verifies electrical buck/vehicle according to established standards, plans, and checklists.
Collaboration: Collaborates with suppliers, cross-functional teams, and the Nissan R&D team to ensure vehicle safety performance, network performance, and system functionalities.
Regional Leadership: Leads the Americas region in their responsibility by providing regional requirements to the Nissan R&D team and offering local engineers project development and test training.
Who We’re Looking For:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Tools.
Ability to work independently and proactively.
Experience in electrical design and/or testing in the automotive industry.
Understanding of automobile electronics and vehicle communication networks such as CAN, LIN, and Ethernet.
Knowledge of Systems Engineering methods and approaches.
Experience using tools required for vehicle electronic development, such as CAN Tools (CANoe / CANalyzer) and oscilloscopes.
Possession of a valid driver's license.
Minimum Qualifications:
Experience:
1 to 2 years of directly related professional-level engineering experience, including co-ops and internships.
Education:
Bachelor of Science or Master of Science in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.

Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident.
Up to 15% of domestic and/or international travel may be required.
Overtime:
Willingness to work overtime as necessary to complete the job.
