SUMMARY
Works on complex technical assignments requiring significant judgment, initiative, creativity, and troubleshooting skills to resolve problems. Daily tasks encompass substantial variety and complexity. Errors cause delay, expense and disruption.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Builds prototype models based on technical guidelines
- Collaborates as necessary with engineers and other professionals (vendors, customers, etc.), including to optimize the efficiency of equipment and improve test processes
- Adapts processes, techniques, tools, materials, and/or equipment to meet current needs
- Provides leadership and is a valued resource for other technicians when solving complex problems, escalating only the most difficult; functions as the primary technical resource for Test Engineers for special projects, data gathering, reporting, and software maintenance and changes
- Gathers and interprets data through defect analysis reports and provides results and conclusions to others in Test Engineering
- Assists Electronic Technician Supervisors with:
- Employee Training: Providing comprehensive training to team members to ensure they are well-versed in testing protocols and procedures.
- Support Prioritization: Helping to determine and manage the prioritization of support tasks to align with workcell priorities and overall project goals.
- Efficiency Maximization: Working to enhance the efficiency of testing and support operations by analyzing and optimizing workflows in line with workcell priorities
- Creates new and maintains existing documentation e.g. work instructions, job aids, etc.; assists with the development of training materials for specific test platforms
- Completes calibrations and preventive maintenance on complex systems
- Troubleshoots and repairs electrical, pneumatic, mechanical, and hydraulic systems
- Supports Lean and Six Sigma Initiatives
- Works safely and complies with Environmental Health and Safety standards and work practices along with all other work rules.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Associates in Electronics, Technical Certificate or similar and at least 5 years of related work experience
OR equivalent combination of education, work experience and technical expertise
- Advanced computer skills, including networking
- Strong analytical, interpretive, and problem resolution skills
- Must obtain and maintain IPC and soldering certifications (certification training provided in-house)
Ability to:
- work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
- work under tight deadlines with frequently changing priorities and interruptions
- effectively present information and respond to questions from coworkers, managers and customers
- define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- troubleshoot electrical problems down to a component level
Must be available to support personnel during off-shifts and weekends when required
