Primary Objective: 

Provides mechanical and electrical support to ensure efficiency and quality in the production of the laminate flooring. 

 

Major Function and Scope:  

• Complies with all company safety rules and procedures. 

• Monitors and reacts in a timely manner to routine demand maintenance requirements. 

• Participates in routine Preventive/Predictable Maintenance. 

• Troubleshoots equipment stoppages and reacts accordingly.  

• Utilizes various mechanical and electrical test equipment.   

• Assists with manufacturing during product change-over. 

• Plans, assists, documents, and implements process improvement techniques and devices. 

• Utilizes machining, electrical, and mechanical trade skills to complete daily tasks. 

• Communicates all necessary information with Maintenance and Production Teams 

• Attend any job-related training deemed necessary by supervision  

• Follow all established standard operating procedures  

• Perform general housekeeping duties as necessary 

• Perform other tasks assigned by management 

  

Type of Experience and Knowledge: 

• Training and practical experience in an industrial setting preferred 

• Associates degree in applied technology in industrial/manufacturing or equivalent experience 

• Hands-on experience in an industrial setting 

• Experience with high pressure hydraulics, pneumatics, and automated material handling utilizing 480vac VFD’s, and PLC control logic troubleshooting 

• Good mechanical aptitude 

• Ability to work independently on projects from conception to completion   

• Able to interpret and produce mechanical and electrical drawings and schematics 

• Ability to produce and communicate technical reports  

• Light machining and welding skills 

• Light fabrication skills 

  

Physical Requirements / Other Pertinent Job Information:  

• This position requires the team member to work with machinery in an environment where there may be exposure to noise from machinery, dust, and variable temperatures. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) will be required and may include eye protection, hearing protection, safety shoes, and high visibility clothing.  

• Other working conditions may include working 12 hours shift and a fixed shift rotation, including holidays   

• Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.; walking, bending, squatting, climbing ladders and stairs are required
