This role is critical to ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of all electrical automation, and control systems across the plant. The Electrical Supervisor will oversee a team of Electricians, Electro-Mechanical Technicians and Mechanics, drive continuous improvement in electrical/PLC systems, and serve as the go-to expert for troubleshooting and emergency response — anytime, day or night.

Job Duties:

  • Work in accordance with all safety regulations and safe job procedures, standard work processes, BRC food safety initiatives, good manufacturing practices, and product quality requirements at all times.
  • Lead, train, and develop Maintenance Team Members, supervise, mentor, and develop a team of Electricians, Mechanics and Electro-Mechanical Technicians.
  • Foster a culture of safety, integrity, and continuous improvement.
  • Enforce NEC, OSHA, and plant-specific safety protocols, including lockout/tagout and high-voltage procedures.
  • Conduct regular safety meetings, inspections, and hazard assessments.
  • Lead preventative and predictive maintenance programs to minimize unplanned downtime.
  • Diagnose and repair complex mechanicals, electrical and control system issues in high-speed production and steel-forming equipment.
  • Provide hands-on support during equipment failures, startups, shutdowns, and emergencies — 24/7 availability required.
  • Provide technical expertise in PLC/HMI programming, process control, and machine automation.
  • Upgrade legacy systems (e.g., Allen-Bradley PLC-5 to ControlLogix) and fine-tune control systems for optimal performance.
  • Collaborate with operations to improve machine reliability and throughput.
  • Plan and execute mechanical, electrical and automation projects from concept to completion.
  • Review electrical schematics, blueprints, and specifications for new installations.
  • Coordinate with vendors and contractors for capital projects and equipment upgrades.
  • Ensure effective control of minimum and maximum stock levels for Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) spare parts. Support the MRO team in technical decision-making for purchases and parts selection, while maintaining accurate inventory records. Optimize stock levels to prevent shortages or excess, and guarantee availability of critical components to sustain uninterrupted operations.
  • Responsible for planning maintenance in mechanical, electrical, and production areas. Conduct periodic audits of the maintenance planning system, generating statistical reports.
  • Maintain accurate records: work orders, logs, inspections, and documentation.
  • Manage departmental budgets, spare parts inventory, and shop supplies.
  • Track and report KPIs for electrical and maintenance performance and reliability.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and Trivium core values.
