Job Summary:
- The Electrical Supervisor is responsible for leading Electrical Maintenance repairs and project activities. This position will also have coordinator responsibilities for contractors in assigned area(s) or as directed by Plant Management.
- In accordance with NRG policies, the Electrical Maintenance Supervisor is expected to plan, prioritize, assign, supervise, and review the work of power plant equipment, machinery, and related facilities. Contractor Coordination will be required to complete some tasks with direct supervision of contractors being required.
- Ensures work quality and adherence to established policies and procedures, holding employees and contractors accountable for their performance.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Establish methods for providing maintenance and repair services; identify resource needs; review needs with maintenance manager; allocate resources accordingly.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive working knowledge of all equipment and systems residing in, or related to, assigned area(s).
- Effectively employs work management system to provide for the timely preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance of all systems and equipment in assigned area(s).
- Manage work backlog to deliver timely maintenance and maintain workforce productivity.
- Participate in the development of policies and procedures; monitor work activities to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures; make recommendations for changes and improvements to existing standards and procedures.
- Lead / support emergency response efforts – weather events, fire, environmental spills, etc.
- Ensures all Company resources are utilized in a cost-effective manner and estimates resource requirements.
- Responsible for general housekeeping and cleanliness of assigned equipment and overall plant.
- Responsible for collateral duties and special projects as assigned.
- Responsible for communicating and leading in accordance with company vision and core values.
- Performs field inspections of job sites and work in progress.
- Recognizes problems and is proactive in helping to resolve them.
- Understands and consistently applies personnel policies and procedures and the principles of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
- Assesses risk, makes run-repair-replace recommendations and coordinates vendor selection for parts and services as required.
- Responsible for periodic duty coverage.
Working Conditions:
- Plant environment requiring indoor and outdoor activities. Normal office environment to perform normal supervisory responsibilities.
