The Electrical Load Management System (ELMS) team is seeking experienced and inquisitive design engineers with strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and dedication to engineering excellence to support design and certification of the ELMS 777-9 and 777-8F airplanes. The ELMS consists of multiple power panels dedicated to host multiple functions within the airplane subsystems. The Electrical Load Management System provides primary and secondary airplane electrical power distribution, monitoring and protection functions for the Boeing 777-8F and 777-9. ELMS Engineers interface with multiple hosted systems teams to ensure our hardware and software design is fully integrated and meets regulatory requirements. The ELMS position provides an excellent exposure into the design and operation of modern transport aircraft systems.
Boeing Commercial Airplanes in Everett, WA is seeking an Electrical Load Management System (ELMS) Designer Engineer Senior = level 4 to join the ELMS team.
Position Responsibilities (Level 4)
Leads and resolves technical issues in the overall development of ELMS. Leads coordination effort with suppliers for the ELMS development. Assigns work statements to team members for the ELMS development. Ensures the panel hardware and software can perform the necessary functionality to satisfy testing needs in labs and flight test airplanes for brassboard and red label power panels. Also, meet customer airplane needs by managing the incorporation of functions to the black label panel configuration. Manages issues, risks, and opportunities for the power panel system for 777X by coordinating with suppliers, system experts, and other stake holders and providing recommendations to fix issues, mitigate risks, and realize opportunities.
Leads work with customers to develop and document complex electronic and electrical system requirements. Leads and coordinates work to analyze and translate requirements into system architecture, hardware and software designs and interface specifications. Leads work to test and validate to ensure system designs meet operational and functional requirements. Oversees the team that monitors supplier performance to ensure system integration and compliance with requirements. Solves problems concerning and provides other support of fielded hardware and software over the entire product lifecycle. Researches technology advances for potential application to company business needs. Makes recommendations for technology investments.
The roles involve ensuring that product improvements, in-service issues, and regulatory mandates are comprehensively vetted, properly implemented and certified on schedule using a disciplined system engineering approach that embodies quality from requirements validation through lab and airplane test verification.
Successful candidates will also be exposed to and contribute to the certification lifecycle of our Software Block Point development programs from cert plan inception, through test, to FAA/EASA regulatory approval that will provide an in-depth exposure to the current evolving regulatory landscape.

This position is full time position.
This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or related STEM field.
10+ Years of experience in Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
10+ Years of Experience in Project Management
5+ Years of Experience in Team Management
10+ Years of Experience in Troubleshooting and Root cause analysis
Typical Education/ Experience:
Level 4:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET
accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
