As an Electrical Engineer, you’ll carry out a range of technical tasks in a team or individually. You will work on the design, repair, modification, recertification, mob/demob, testing, quality assurance, compliance, and documentation of topside control systems. You’ll understand how the whole subsystem of rigs works in this extremely specialist role.
In this role, your responsibilities will include:
- Providing support through the daily operations of the HMI/PLC hardware/software systems and related process control systems that ensure reliable operations.
- Working together with high level people from the business. Specifying needs, communicating about project approach, and presenting outcomes of research done.
- Carrying out required engineering tasks/projects, according to company and international standards and procedures.
- Creating, reviewing and approving engineering parts and documentation as per required guidelines
- Working directly with customers, particularly in regard to technical clarifications and interpretation of standards
- Performing to required competence standards and promoting and ensuring compliance to all company, customer and regulatory requirements
- Handling diverse clients in a region, and working on the basis of predefined contracts and frameworks.
Fuel your passion
To be successful in this role, you will:
- Have a bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology (Significant experience can replace degree requirement)
- Have 2+ years of developing and implementing PLC Automation Solutions
- Have instrument installation and calibration experience
- Able to design, program, install, commission/test, and support instrumentation and control systems. These systems typically include process instrumentation, control panels, motor controls, power monitoring, PLCs, OITs/HMIs, SCADA/DCS Systems, industrial networking, IT infrastructure.
- Able and willing to travel (typical travel is 25-30% annually)
