Job Description

AECOM has an opening for an Electrical Engineer II to support our growing Buildings + Places teams in San Diego, CA.

Job Summary/Responsibilities

• Electrical engineering support from conceptual design through construction administration and post-occupancy
• Coordinating with multiple disciplines and acting as the electrical designer to ensure a comprehensive and integrated approach to the project’s electrical systems, functionality, and safety measures
• Support in the review of shop drawings during the construction administration phase
• Prepare engineering related calculations and develop drawings and visual aids
• Writing reports for internal and external purposes based on findings
• Works cooperatively with managers and other employees to achieve company's mission
• Ensures discipline plans that are created meet overall project team requirements for project scope and schedule
• Stays current on codes and technologies appropriate to the electrical disciplines
• Support on site visits for the purpose of data collection and evaluation of electrical systems, equipment, components and materials for projects
• Develops designs within a BIM design environment
• Completes assigned engineering and design tasks in accordance with client specified criteria and applicable codes and standards
• Develops alternate technical solutions and design options in support of project team, e.g. white paper research, code review and wide range of difficult problems
• Responsible for communication and collaboration with full design team and client
• Ensures compliance to Quality Assurance Procedures

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

• BA/BS in Electrical Engineering, Architectural Engineering or similar and 2+ years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
• Experience with Revit and AutoCAD based design projects

Preferred Qualifications

• 6+ years of electrical engineering experience within a consulting or design-build firm
• Professional Engineering (Electrical) license
• EIT certification
• Competent in all conventional aspects of electrical engineering and conducts work requiring judgment in the evaluation, selection and substantial adaptation and modification of standard electrical engineering techniques, procedures and criteria
• Excellent communication skills: articulate, assertive, and confident
• Creative thinker with effective teamwork skills
• Experience with sustainable design

Additional Information

• Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $100,000 - $120,000
• Relocation assistance is not available for this role
• Sponsorship is not available this role
• This is a hybrid position with 2-3 required days in the office/field and up to 2 days work from home.
