Job Description
AECOM has an opening for an Electrical Engineer II to support our growing Buildings + Places teams in San Diego, CA.
Job Summary/Responsibilities
- Electrical engineering support from conceptual design through construction administration and post-occupancy
- Coordinating with multiple disciplines and acting as the electrical designer to ensure a comprehensive and integrated approach to the project’s electrical systems, functionality, and safety measures
- Support in the review of shop drawings during the construction administration phase
- Prepare engineering related calculations and develop drawings and visual aids
- Writing reports for internal and external purposes based on findings
- Works cooperatively with managers and other employees to achieve company's mission
- Ensures discipline plans that are created meet overall project team requirements for project scope and schedule
- Stays current on codes and technologies appropriate to the electrical disciplines
- Support on site visits for the purpose of data collection and evaluation of electrical systems, equipment, components and materials for projects
- Develops designs within a BIM design environment
- Completes assigned engineering and design tasks in accordance with client specified criteria and applicable codes and standards
- Develops alternate technical solutions and design options in support of project team, e.g. white paper research, code review and wide range of difficult problems
- Responsible for communication and collaboration with full design team and client
- Ensures compliance to Quality Assurance Procedures
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- BA/BS in Electrical Engineering, Architectural Engineering or similar and 2+ years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
- Experience with Revit and AutoCAD based design projects
Preferred Qualifications
- 6+ years of electrical engineering experience within a consulting or design-build firm
- Professional Engineering (Electrical) license
- EIT certification
- Competent in all conventional aspects of electrical engineering and conducts work requiring judgment in the evaluation, selection and substantial adaptation and modification of standard electrical engineering techniques, procedures and criteria
- Excellent communication skills: articulate, assertive, and confident
- Creative thinker with effective teamwork skills
- Experience with sustainable design
Additional Information
- Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $100,000 - $120,000
- Relocation assistance is not available for this role
- Sponsorship is not available this role
- This is a hybrid position with 2-3 required days in the office/field and up to 2 days work from home.
