Electrical Aerospace Engineer

Technical Professional II is responsible for designing, developing, and testing solution to solve technical problems.

BS in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering required

We are looking for an energetic, organized electrical engineer that has good communication skills to work on the International Space Station Electrical Power Systems (EPS) Team.  The International Space Station (ISS) Electric EPS consists of a hybrid mix of two major segments: a 120-Volt U.S.-built portion, and a 28-Volt and 120-Volt Russian-built portion. The two systems are generally independent but are interconnected via dc converters to allow mutual transfer of power depending on availability and system demand. The following are areas of engineering that are needed:

-New Space hardware Integration and Verification:

-Provide integration, hardware and verification support for the EPS (Electrical Power System) Team including meeting / board support, answer queries for information, generate power quality requirements for hardware / elements interface with the EPS, generate verification requirements and support verification analysis and testing as required and provide document / data review to support design reviews and day-to-day integration and hardware support activities

-Support EPS open paper, Delivered Item List (DIL), and Certification of Flight Readiness (CoFR) monitoring and closure efforts, including maintaining the EPS Master Schedule and DIL status spreadsheets using Microsoft Excel. Present status in multiple meeting forums.  Maintain open paper metrics for the EPS Team

-Maintain the EPS Architecture Notebook, Russian Power Transfer and Jumper Handbooks

Education

• BS or MS in engineering (or related engineering field)

Experience

• One to five (1-5) years' experience.

License, Cert or Registration

• Current drivers’ license required if needed for driving requirement or security clearance.
• Proof of U.S. Citizenship or authorization to work in the U.S.
• May require a Secret clearance or an inactive clearance within the last 24 months, enabling access to various Government facilities.
