General Purpose
An EHR Specialist I with the Acquisition Team is responsible for assisting in managing and organizing checklist items that need to be completed during the process of processing new facilities to our workspace.
Job Essentials and Requirements
- Knowledge of Healthcare Terminology and Regulations: An EHR Specialist should be familiar with medical terminology and healthcare regulations to record and manage patient data accurately1.
- Proficiency with EHR Software: The specialist must be proficient in using EHR software to enter, update, and retrieve patient information1.
- Data Management Skills: They should have strong data management skills to ensure the accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance of patient records with state and federal regulations1.
- Attention to Detail: Reviewing patients' records for accuracy and completeness and correcting any errors is a crucial part of the job.
- Communication Skills: Interacting with clinical staff and doctors to clarify diagnoses or obtain additional information is essential.
- Technical Skills: The ability to use classification software to assign clinical codes for insurance reimbursement and data analysis1.
- Confidentiality: Protecting patients' health information and ensuring authorized access for direct patient care and other appropriate uses1.
