Job Description

Our Digital Manufacturing Operations Team supporting our vibrant West Point site is seeking a Senior Specialist in process automation. Our engineers continuously improve and innovate to support and ensure our manufacturing facilities remain operational. With the extensive range of facilities and environments, our Engineers have opportunities across many diverse areas including Biological, Chemical, Automation, Capital Projects, Maintenance, Safety, Process Development, Technical Services, Utilities, and Validation.

Responsibilities include,

  • Comply with Global Policies, Procedures and Guidelines, regulatory requirements and execute current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) in the performance of day-to-day activities and all applicable job functions.

  • Provide automation support to maintain operation through troubleshooting, intervention and preventive maintenance. 

  • Perform system administrative tasks to keep the automation systems to be compliant and inspection ready state by performing periodic review, alarm management, system upgrade and SOP updates.

  • Participate and contribute to deviation investigations relate to automation to prevent a recurrence.

  • Must be able to communicate clearly (oral and in writing) and frequently with operations and other support groups.  

  • Provide designing, implementing, testing, and closing-out change controls for automation related corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives while adhering to the cGMP and GDP.

  • Participate small capital projects by performing computer system validation following the company’s System Development Life Cycle procedures. 

  • Provide off-site weekend/evening automation phone or on-site support. 

Minimum Education Requirement:

  • Bachelors Degree required. STEM major preferred.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • 5+ years in process automation, IT or equivalent in GMP regulated industry.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interface effectively with all levels of colleagues in a team environment, and with external parties.

  • DeltaV DCS, Allen Bradly PLC, Siemens S7 PLC, OPC, ASI/Field/Profibus experience.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Networking, Virtual Machines, Database management and other general IT administration.

  • Informetric InfoBatch and OSI Pi assetframe
