Senior Accountant

What does a great Senior Accountant do?

In this role you’ll prepare and upload journal entries and complete balance sheet account reconciliations for various Fiserv relationships.  Entries and reconciliations are to be prepared according to Generally Accepted Accounting Procedures (GAAP).  In addition, you will analyze various financial reports and prepare variance analysis when needed.  You may also function as an international accounting liaison, participate in accounting projects, and /or provide work direction to less experienced accounting staff.

Senior Accountant, you can look forward to:

• Preparing, reviewing and analyzing balance sheet account reconciliations
• Completing daily journal entries
• Understanding journal entries and accounting flows
• Understanding of operational back office processes
• Identifying and communicating potential risk in accounts and resolving reconciling items timely
• Documenting operational processes and associated accounting flows
• Identifying opportunities for process and/or internal control enhancements
• Preparing standard monthly and specialized reporting with minimal supervision
• Participating in projects as assigned by management team

Basic Qualifications for Consideration:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent work experience
• 4-6 years Accounting/Finance experience

Preferred Skills, Experience, and Education

• Experience in the preparation of balance sheet account reconciliations and journal entries
• Knowledge and application of GAAP
• Ability to work with diverse network of people
• Capacity to embrace change and quickly adapt to new situations, changes in direction and altering priorities
• Excellent communications, organizational, problem solving and analytical skills
• Strong PC skills including MS Word, Excel, Access and automated accounting systems
• Ability to work with limited supervision
