General Notes
This position will end effective one year from start date. Subsequent annual renewal of employment will be based upon performance review, progress towards research goals, and continuation of funding.
Purpose
This position will perform wet lab research while also taking on administrative duties.
Responsibilities
Research
The candidate will aid in several projects related to microbiology and protein engineering. This will include the use of microbial genetics and protein biochemistry to study antibacterial activities and treatment of bacterial infections. The candidate will work with mice as part of these projects.
Administration
The candidate will be responsible for management of lab reagents, overseeing work-study student(s), and day-to-day lab chores.
Required Qualifications
BS in microbiology, biochemistry, molecular biology or a similar field.
Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in bacterial genetics, protein biochemistry and animal work.
Salary Range
$45,000 + depending on qualifications
Working Conditions
Uniforms and/or personal protection equipment (furnished).
May work around chemical fumes.
May work around standard office conditions.
May work around biohazards.
May work around chemicals
Work Shift
Flexible between 7am - 6pm, Monday - Friday
