Boeing Defense, Space, and Security (BDS) is seeking motivated, talented, experienced Systems Engineers (Associate and Experienced) to join the Space Intelligence & Weapons Systems Engineering Team. There are multiple positions for a wide range of engineering roles available at multiple sites (El Segundo, CA, Huntsville, AL and St. Charles, MO).
The Space, Intelligence and Weapon Systems (SIWS) organization is dynamic and growing with a leadership team focused on attracting and developing top talent in support of wide range of critical missions including Commercial and Government Satellite Programs, Experimental Space Programs, Space Launch, Weapons Systems, Space Missile & Defense Systems, and Maritime programs.
Systems Engineering, System Integration, Design Integration and Design Engineering Responsibilities May Include:
Contributing to development of systems engineering principles and concepts as well as advanced systems engineering practices.
Leading technical teams to successfully complete aspects of major programs and function in a project leadership role.
Performing and leading complex analysis to optimize total system and/or system architecture to solve complex missile defense problems.
Applying and leading interdisciplinary, collaborative approaches to plan, design, develop and verify complex system solutions.
Defining and coordinating system performance requirements and technical parameters for complex systems.
Leading analyses for affordability, safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, survivability, human systems integration, survivability, vulnerability, susceptibility, system security, regulatory, certification, product assurance, product security (cyber security) and other specialties quality factors into a preferred configuration to ensure mission success.
Leading development of verification and validation methods, processes, logic, and plans in support of program milestones of complex systems.
Lead analysis and translation of requirements into system architecture, hardware and software designs and interface specifications.
Lead development and documentation of electronic and electrical system requirements of complex systems.
Lead circuit design (PWB layout, thermal analyses, power analyses, EMI analyses).
Lead design engineering and analysis efforts.
Lead software development, software and test integration efforts for complex systems.
Systems and Performance Analysis, Model & Sim, Algorithm Development Responsibilities May Include:
Lead evaluation of systems under various scenarios and architectures to determine and/or optimize overall weapon performance in a framework giving insight into performance.
Lead development of analysis tools of varied fidelity including modeling and simulation tools to predict performance against evolving threats of current and future weapon systems.
Lead development and documentation of key algorithm capabilities to support various DoD customers.
Model Based Engineering / Systems Engineering Responsibilities May Include:
Development of Model-Based Engineering (MBE) tools, processes and architectures.
Development of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools, processes and architectures.
Configuration, data and work flow management of program specific MBSE tools and processes.
Establishment of protocol / process for integration of engineering tools with MBSE.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options (El Segundo, CA, Huntsville, AL and St. Charles, MO).
This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship as a condition of employment. A final U.S. Secret Clearance Pre-Start is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry and 2 or more years’ of related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience.
