This position will perform general carpentry work, building maintenance and repairs.

Your Specific Responsibilities:
Performs general carpentry work in the alteration, repair and maintenance of buildings, roofs, floors, stairways, windows and concrete forms throughout the District. Performs skilled bench work in a carpenter shop operating power saws, joiners, wood lathes, planers, sanding machines and mortising machines. Constructs new buildings as required. Fabricates new furniture, cabinets, shelving, wood trim and related items as required. Hangs bulletin boards, pictures and related wall attachments. Reads plans and schematic drawings. Works independently or with a team, occasionally as team leader.
Assist other building maintenance trades in routine repair and maintenance of District facilities. Assist with electrical, mechanical, plumbing, masonry, roofing and sheet metal work.
Performs routine maintenance and repairs on door hardware, closures, keys and locksets.
Performs routine applications of paints, stains and related finish applications.
Performs routine duties in the maintenance of equipment.
The Successful Candidate will have the following required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of general and finish carpentry. Knowledge of basic procedures and methods related to electrical, mechanical, plumbing and roofing trades.
