The FAU Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine seeks a dynamic and collaborative clinical faculty member at the rank of Associate/Full Professor to serve as a Chief of Cardiology. The Chief of Cardiology will provide strategic leadership and oversee the Cardiology Department within the College of Medicine and Broward Health. This role entails the management of clinical, educational, and research programs within the Cardiology Department, with a focus on enhancing patient care, advancing medical education, and driving cutting-edge research initiatives in cooperation with the departments and Broward Health hospital's administration for Cardiology. This position is also responsible for the strategic clinical relationships with physicians across the Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine, as well as those with the nursing staff, pharmacy, laboratories, and technical staff. The Chief of Cardiology oversees the development of clinical/education training content and marketing materials. The Chief of Cardiology ensures the compliance of the cardiology subspecialists service line rules and regulations regarding patient care, billing documentation and HIPAA, and participates in the development and leadership of quality and safety initiatives and clinical practice improvements. The primary work site for this position is the University’s affiliate hospital, Broward Health North.

The Chief of Cardiology - Associate/Full Professor reports to the Chair of Medicine and will have the following key responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership:

  • Develop and implement a strategic vision for the Cardiology Department in alignment with the overall goals and objectives of the Schmidt College of Medicine and Broward Health.
  • Provide guidance and direction to a team of cardiologists, fellows, residents, and support staff.

Clinical Oversight:

  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based clinical care in the field of cardiology, fostering a culture of excellence and patient-centered care.
  • Oversee clinical operations, including patient scheduling, consultations, diagnostic procedures, and inpatient care.

Academic and Educational Initiatives:
