NCSES, a small organization with significant impact, conducts various surveys and produces congressionally mandated reports and publications that are vital to shaping policy and understanding trends in the Science and Engineering (S&E) landscape.

The Project Manager performs, but is not limited to, the following duties:
Responsibilities:
- Serves as lead Project Manager; ensures communication and coordination of key tasks
- Facilitate clear and open communication within the team and with stakeholders to ensure alignment and address issues promptly. Coordinate and manage the work of a team of 4, ensuring tasks are distributed effectively and efficiently.
- Oversee the planning, execution, and completion of projects to ensure they align with business goals and timelines. Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
- Ensure the team adheres to best practices and industry standards in project management.
- Manage resource allocation, budget tracking, and project documentation.
- Lead regular team meetings and provide status updates to senior management.
- Mentor and support team members, fostering their professional development and enhancing team performance.
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules for approximately 100 annual products, ensuring adherence to established timelines and milestones.
- Coordinate with NCSES stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and requirements for major data releases and congressionally mandated reports.
- Implement waterfall project management methodologies to oversee the execution of projects, ensuring seamless progression through defined phases.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks and issues, and implement corrective actions as necessary to ensure projects stay on track.
- Facilitate regular project status meetings and communication with project teams and stakeholders to provide updates and resolve issues.
- Manage dependencies between projects and phases, ensuring alignment with overall project goals and timelines.
- Ensure all data releases and major projects have active, approved schedules maintained throughout their lifecycle.
- Collaborate with other contractors and stakeholders as needed to support the successful dissemination of NCSES products.
- Provide regular reporting on project status, milestones achieved, and upcoming deliverables to NCSES leadership and stakeholders.
- As the point of contact on assigned projects, performs a variety of highly skilled duties such as: assembling, coordinating and managing multidisciplinary technical review teams.
