Basic Function

Provides project  planning and scheduling support to the Capital Projects Groups for the region.  The regional locations are the following LyondellBasell manufacturing sites:  Bayport, Channelview, and La Porte/Pipeline. This position in the project controls organization will provide planning and scheduling support for all capital portfolio projects throughout the region. Will typically manage 60-80 schedules at a time (most less than $10MM).

Roles & Responsibilities

• Active participation in the overall scheduling process at assigned sites.
• Prepare schedules appropriate for each phase of the project in accordance with LYB standard format best practice guidelines using Primavera Scheduling software.
• Ensures project schedules are updated in accordance with the assigned timelines with the correct accuracy for each phase of the project.
• Perform schedule risk analysis as required and propose schedule contingency.
• Perform engineering & construction contractor schedule integration into overall master schedule. 
• Participates in the evaluation of engineering and construction contractors scheduling capabilities.
• Identifies and monitors schedule deliverables/milestones, including TA Excellence Model milestones when applicable
• Baselines schedule and tracks performance against the baseline.  Identifies critical path.
• Provide schedule, resource, and Key Performance Indictor (KPI) reporting to project teams. Routinely works with project teams to review schedules to assure they are correct and accurate.
• Communicates with counterparts at LYB providers to ensure LYB required scheduling protocols are followed.
• Facilitates interactive planning sessions
• Assists with program standardization and enhancements.
• Provides schedule analysis/diagnostics to project team to support schedule improvement/recovery.
• Maintains quantity based progress measurement system (Earned Value tracking).
• Perform Site Primavera administration duties such as maintaining and aligning site coding structures, resource, and templates. Conduct site portfolio reporting.

Min. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with minimum of 6 years of project planning and scheduling experience, preferably in relation to petrochemical or refining industry projects OR high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 7 years of project planning and scheduling experience preferably in relation to petrochemical or refining industry projects.
• Ability to trend data, excel experience, Primavera experience, strong communication skills and problem-solving capability.
• Ability to adopt and comprehend companies scheduling guidelines and current best practices.
• Ability to verify schedules are in compliance with scheduling best practices.
• Must demonstrate competency in using Primavera Scheduling software.
• Strong analytical skills that will allow proper assessments of projects to identify potential issues.
• Support development and recommend solutions via communication and support with Project Management and project team members.
• Knowledgeable regarding risk management and analysis.  Schedule and Risk analysis experience using Deltek Acumen software preferred.
• Experience regarding schedule reporting utilizing Microsoft Power BI preferred.
