Procurement Commodities Manager - Grains

Overview
The Grains Commodities Manager role is part of the Global Grains Procurement team and will play a critical role in developing and executing global category strategy. This role will partner globally with category leads, cross-functional teams, and senior leaders to build business cases, shape category strategies, and influence decisions across sectors. Success requires strong executive-level communication, analytical capability, stakeholder engagement, and development of a deep understanding of global grains sourcing and supplier markets.
Responsibilities
- Support global grains portfolio management across approximately USD 1.9B in spend, partnering with global, regional, and local teams to deliver a coordinated category agenda.
- Lead market intelligence, competitor benchmarking, and supplier analysis to identify sourcing strategy opportunities, cost drivers, market risks, and competitive advantage opportunities.
- Partner with global/sector leads to develop and deploy world-class sourcing strategies that identify opportunities across regions, leverage global scale, improve resilience, and step-change productivity and sustainability delivery.
- Benchmark specifications and identify harmonization opportunities to reduce complexity and expand supply options.
- Coordinate global demand visibility with operations and sector teams to ensure capacity plans are aligned with business needs, supplier development priorities, and long-term supply assurance requirements.
- Identify, assess, and develop alternative suppliers and low-cost country sourcing opportunities to improve competitiveness, diversify supply, and support regional execution within global guardrails.
- Lead preparation, coordination, execution, negotiation, and award of global tenders in partnership with sectors
- Partner with R&D, Supply Chain, Quality, and suppliers to develop the grains innovation and intellectual property agenda, including new ingredients, processing capabilities, sustainability solutions, and advantaged supply models.
- Develop, implement, and manage strategic supplier partnerships to deliver cost reduction, capacity assurance, quality improvement, sustainability, innovation, and risk mitigation.
- Develop a multi-year productivity pipeline strategy driven by transformational unlocks to reduce costs, leverage of global insights and scale, and robust negotiations.
- Partner with sector leads to deliver and exceed AOP commitments
- Develop and deploy commercial, supplier, and market risk management capabilities, including hedging where applicable, to protect grains supply continuity, financial performance, and business resilience.
- Influence global peers, regional stakeholders, and senior leaders to embrace coordinated grains strategies, complex negotiations, scaled supplier approaches, and new value-added processes across a matrixed organization.
Compensation and Benefits:
- The expected compensation range for this position is between $110,700 - $185,250.

- Bonus based on performance and eligibility target payout is 12% of annual salary paid out annually.

Qualifications
Education/Certification:
- BS in Supply Chain, Logistics, Finance. Preferred degree with focus in Business, Ag Economics, or Engineering.
Work Experience:
- 7+ years of work experience in engineering, research & development, purchasing, or other relevant experience
Skills & Capabilities:
- Strategic thinking: Ability to translate strategies into plans that can be effectively executed
- Functional expertise: Very good knowledge of the ag/commodities supply chain and markets (supplier & competitor landscape, market fundamentals, agricultural forces, etc.)
- Excellent leader, demonstrating ability to influence up and across the organization
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with ability to clearly communicate vision and quickly gain alignment with senior management, both internally and externally
