Principal/Sr. Principal Field Engineer

Position Description

Serco is seeking a Principal/Sr. Principal Field Engineer to join our growing team of diverse professionals supporting the Joint Tactical Ground Station (JTAGS) program based out of Colorado Springs, Colorado. This position is contingent upon contract award, budget, and customer approval.

In this role, you will:

• Install, operate, maintain, repair, and modify all aspects of the JTAGS System.
• Perform a variety of maintenance and technical support on products such as equipment, integrated systems and subsystems, and software at field locations.
• Provide real-time technical support to the warfighter on all aspects of the JTAGS system (hardware/software) at customer and field locations.
• Provide onsite training of customer support personnel.

Qualifications

Qualifications

• Level 3: Bachelor's degree with 5 years of experience, Master's degree with 3 years of experience, or High School diploma/Equivalent with 9 years of experience in lieu of degree.
• Level 4: Bachelor's degree with 8 years of experience, Master's degree with 6 years of experience, or High School diploma/Equivalent with 12 years of experience in lieu of degree.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Active DoD Secret security clearance investigated within the last 5 years.
• Active DOD 8570 IA Workforce Improvement Program IAT Level II Technical Level Certification (Security+ CE, CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, CND, SSC).
• Linux experience.
• Windows OS experience.
• SATCOM antenna experience.
• Working knowledge of data processing hardware.
• Mechanical aptitude with standard mechanical tools.
• Ability to assist with System Integration.
• Familiarity with JTAGS, Air Defense, Space Brigade missile warning, missile warning systems, CRAM, or similar systems.
• Experience troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving complex system issues.
• Ability to work on-site in Colorado Springs and travel internationally up to 50%.

Additional desired experience and skills:

• Prior JTAGS experience.
• Prior missile warning program experience.
• Training or advanced knowledge in Cisco, NetApp, HP servers, and Dell servers.
• Experience formatting/imaging hard drives, managing backups.
• Familiarity with networking protocols (VLANs, routing, subnets), network switching, network attached storage, firewall appliances, intrusion detection devices.
• Familiarity with COMSEC principles and cryptographic equipment.
• Prior experience providing on-site technical (hardware/software) support.
• Experience with rackmount hardware installations.
• Experience working to engineering drawings.
