THE ROLE:

 

The Brands Staff Accountant is a pivotal position within our Shared Support team, contributing to the financial operations of our rapidly expanding platform. This role works closely with the Brand Controller and Senior Director of Finance to manage accounting processes and provide financial support to Brand Leaders in multiple markets. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented professional with experience in acquisitions, integrations, and team leadership, driving accuracy and efficiency in financial operations.

Primary responsibilities include:

• Execute accounting operations, including journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close processes, ensuring compliance with GAAP and company policies for 3-4 assigned Brands.
• Prepare and review financial statements, flux explanations, and intercompany reconciliations while supporting financial audits and corporate cost allocations.
• Supervise and train offshore accounting staff, fostering professional development and accuracy in general accounting and accounts payable functions.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with People Operations, IT, FP&A, FinOps, and Revenue Cycle teams to ensure seamless financial processes and integration.

This is a hybrid position, coming into the corporate El Segundo office 3x a week. 

 

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE: 

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or CPA preferred, with 3+ years of relevant accounting experience.
• Experience with NetSuite, Big 4 or national/regional firms, and multi-location or healthcare organizations is preferred.
• Strong understanding of GAAP accounting principles and concepts.
• Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with a focus on accuracy and timeliness.
• Offshore team management experience is a plus, along with effective verbal and written communication skills.

Skills

• Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in accounting software like NetSuite.
• Strong problem-solving, data analysis, and multi-tasking abilities.
• Experience preparing and analyzing financial statements, reconciling accounts, and managing ledgers.
• Effective cross-functional collaboration and resolution of complex business issues.
• Excellent attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills, with a proactive and analytical approach to financial data.
