Your Specific Responsibilities:

This position performs advanced level work responsible for completing complex assignments under the limited supervision of the Management Review Specialist-SES in the Escalation Team.  Completes administrative and consultative work within the Department of Commerce Reemployment Assistance (RA) Program providing operational and management communications for the Department.  Serves as Lead Worker for the Escalation Team.

Conducts research, planning, analysis, design, development, and the maintenance of RA program resources.  Collaborate with pertinent department staff and external entities to ensure RA processes conform to the requirements of state and federal RA Laws regulations, policies and procedures. 

 

Assists customers with problems of a high priority and technical nature which involves all facets of Commerce’s RA Program.  The customers are referred from the Governor’s Office, Commerce Director, Legislative Liaison’s Office, RA Director’s Office, Commerce External Affairs, Press Secretary’s Office, Employ Florida Market Place, Office of RA Appeals, RA Appeals Commission, Office of the General Counsel, Office of Civil Rights, the Inspector General’s Office and elected officials’ offices.  The customers may be RA claimants, employers, or elected officials.  Assistance may be provided by telephone, electronic mail or first class mail.  These priority requests require expedited service.

 

Identifies statewide operational problems in the implementation of RA policies and procedures.  Performs analysis of identified RA operational problems.

 

Consults with other associates to develop solutions for operational problems discovered in RA operations.  Assists management in preparing policy directives and data processing requests as appropriate to initiate needed improvements. 

 

Attend and participate in workshops and meetings regarding the RA Program.  Prepares presentations and analytical reports. 

 

Serves as a training liaison for the Tallahassee Hub.

 

Serves as Lead worker for staff in the Unit.  Coordinates work of staff in the absence of the supervisor.  Answers work related questions from the staff, provides or assists with staff training, and performs special assignments and duties in an emergency.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of the methods of data collection and analysis.
  • Knowledge of basic management principles and practices
  • Knowledge of reemployment assistance law, rules, policies and procedures.
  • Ability to collect, evaluate, and analyze data to develop alternative recommendations, solve problems, document workflow, and other activities relating to the improvement of operational and management practices.
