Our Finance team is looking for a candidate to assist the Company as a Staff Accountant.

The Staff Accountant will add to the overall strength of the accounting and finance teams and primarily be responsible for the Company’s payroll/benefit, accounts payable, and intercompany accounting processes and procedures. The Controller and Assistant Controller will look to the Staff Accountant to assist with accounting analysis, journal entries, close procedures and reconciliations. This position is expected to work closely with all Controllership teams and is responsible for maintaining and updating financial records using data bases, spreadsheets, and accounting systems that track expenditures, revenue, receipts, cash flow, and other financial activities.

Job Description

Principal Responsibilities 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Primarily responsible for all things Payroll Accounting including the following: 

  • Weekly reconciliations between the general ledger, cash accounts, and payroll processing system. 

  • Analysis of payroll related tax accounts, preparation of associated journal entries, and reconciliation of all accounts with the assistance of the payroll tax team. 

  • Partnering with the internal payroll team to resolve differences that arise in the weekly and bi-weekly payroll processing. 

  • Work directly with the Controller to process and reconcile all benefit accounting related items including imputed benefits. 

  • Oversight and ownership of payroll related general ledger coding and SOX controls. 

  • Assume accounts payable accounting responsibilities, including SOX controls, unclaimed property and review of IT asset invoices, to ensure continued precision in the Company’s accounts payable process.  

  •  Prepare and post intercompany journal entries in coordination with corporate team and assist in reconciling intercompany accounts. 

  • Ensure books and financials are kept in accordance with GAAP or other required accounting standards. 

  • Participate in data and document retrieval for internal and external audits. 

  • Assist in various other ad hoc requests involving accounting and controllership. 

 

Required Experience and Knowledge

The successful candidate will have proven experience in developing collaborative relationships across all levels of the organization. This leader must have the passion, energy, and intellectual curiosity necessary for a fast-paced, growth-driven environment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required in Finance or Accounting.

  • Requisite knowledge of US
