Job Description Summary

An exciting Director level opportunity has become available to lead our Debt Investor Relations team in Treasury. The team sits in the broader Capital and Term Issuance team in Treasury. As a team, they own the Group’s capital markets activity and capital planning activity, debt investor relations and credit rating agency engagement, LBG Holding Company and LBG Equity Investments treasury activities, recovery and resolution, as well as certain transaction management activity to support secured, unsecured, and money market funding.

The team sits in the broader Capital and Term Issuance team in Treasury.  As a team, they own the Group’s capital markets activity and capital planning activity, debt investor relations and credit rating agency engagement, LBG Holding Company and LBG Equity Investments treasury activities, recovery and resolution, as well as certain transaction management activity to support secured, unsecured, and money market funding.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the debt investor relations strategy, helping to shape and deliver Group messaging and be responsible for coaching and leading a team.

Day to day you’ll be;

  • Seen as the go-to expert on key debt IR topics, the banking/financial services industry including other UK banks, and the regulatory environment in which the Group operates.
  • Develop your knowledge of Treasury activities and building a network in GCT and beyond, including with our Equity Investor Relations team.
  • Lead the delivery of high quality and insightful MI for a variety of senior stakeholders including the Group Treasurer, Chief Financial Officer and the Group Chief Executive.
  • Lead the delivery of debt investor relations processes, notably:           
    •  Production of fixed income investor presentations and documents.
    •  Engagement with the Group’s global debt investors and coordinating debt investor engagement.
  • Support projects with the broader Capital and Term issuance, and Treasury teams.
  • Shaping the culture of the team and supporting the leadership team in making Treasury a great place to work.

What you’ll need

  • Experience of working in financial markets or a Treasury function within a fast paced organisation.
  • Excellent communication skills - both verbal and written. 
  • Experience presenting to a range of stakeholders.
  • Broad understanding of economics and UK economy.
  • Strong collaboration skills, including a proactive approach to building and maintaining relationships across a range colleagues.
  • High-energy, solution-orientated, self-motivated and show intellectual curiosity.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Experience coaching and developing colleagues.

And Any experience of these would be really useful:

  • Understanding of fixed income investors and financial results.
