TITLE: TradeWest On-Call Aide

DEPARTMENT: TradeWest

STATUS: On-Call

SALARY: $18 

 

MAJOR FUNCTION

Responsible for helping in all areas of the Fulfillment Center in Rancho Palos Verdes (THQ).

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

• Knowledge of Salvation Army policies and procedures
• Good working knowledge of all Microsoft Office products, especially Word and Excel
• Knowledge of UPS or other shipping system
• Experience working in a warehouse setting

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

This position is responsible for assisting with various tasks in the TradeWest fulfillment center and/or the shoppette located in building D, which includes but is not limited to:

• Receiving, storing, shipping, inventory counting, bar coding, cleaning and merchandise stocking. Assisting customers with fittings or purchases/bagging merchandise.
• Order pulling, event preparation as well as event set up and break down.
• Assist the Director, Customer Service Representative, Fulfillment Center Manager and Fulfillment Center Assistant as needed or requested. 
• All other duties as assigned

 

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION

• Active Salvationist, or knowledge of The Salvation Army as an employee, preferred
• Experience working with a wide diversity of people in a customer service environment.
• Experience working as a shipper 
• Knowledge of a major shipping system (UPS, FedEx, USPS) an essential

• Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis
• Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers, and reach overhead
• Ability to operate telephone
• Ability to operate a desktop or laptop computer
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Ability to access and produce information from a computer
• Ability to understand written information
