As a trusted claims expert, you will:

• Own the claim process – from coverage analysis and investigation to liability determination, reserve setting, negotiation, and resolution.
• Lead complex litigation strategy – review lawsuits, coordinate with legal teams, and drive resolution plans that balance risk and business impact.
• Collaborate cross-functionally – work closely with Underwriting, Reinsurance, Legal, and other internal partners to ensure alignment and optimal outcomes.
• Mentor and influence – share your knowledge with peers, guide junior staff, and contribute to a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
• Stay ahead of the curve – monitor legislative and industry trends, and help shape claims policies and procedures accordingly.
• Drive innovation – participate in strategic projects that enhance our claims capabilities and customer experience.

 

What the ideal candidate will bring:

• Proven experience handling complex commercial casualty claims, including litigation and coverage analysis.
• Strong negotiation, analytical, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to manage external counsel and internal stakeholders effectively.

• Deep understanding of insurance regulations, legal trends, and industry best practices.

 

There is a strong preference for the selected candidate to live within 50-mile radius of one of the listed Hub Offices and have the ability to come into the office two times a month.  This policy is subject to change.  We will consider a remote candidate for this opportunity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 5 to 7 years claims adjusting experience.
• Advanced knowledge of Commercial Casualty claims investigation, coverage evaluation, reserving & expense management, resolution strategy, negotiation, litigation management, claims evaluation as well as the insurance legal and regulatory environment.
• Intermediate to advanced level of skill in the area of customer focus, problem solving, communications, gaining support, teamwork, and adaptability and demonstrated ability to work independently, achieve results and execute thoroughly
• Litigated claims experience preferred.
