PAY RANGE
The Target Pay Range for this position is $94,500.00-$115,500.00 annually. The full Pay Range is $73,400.00 - $136,600.00 annually. At BECU, compensation decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, and education or training. Should an offer for employment be made, we will consider individual qualifications. In addition to your salary, compensation incentives are available for the hired applicant. Incentives are performance based and targets vary by role.BENEFITS

IMPACT YOU’LL MAKE:
As a Sr Due Diligence Investigator, you’ll play a critical role in protecting BECU and its members by leading efforts to identify, assess, and mitigate financial crime risks. You’ll be the go-to expert for high-risk member reviews, applying your deep knowledge of BSA/AML/CFT regulations to conduct holistic Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) investigations. Your work will directly influence the strength and integrity of our due diligence program, and you’ll help shape improvements that support regulatory compliance and operational excellence. From day one, you’ll be trusted to take on high-impact tasks and contribute to cleanup and enhancement projects that move the program forward.
To join our dynamic team in this role, we require candidates to be residents of WA, OR, ID, AZ, TX, SC or GA. If you’re located in Washington state and within a reasonable driving distance to our Tukwila Headquarters (TFC), we encourage you come into the office on Tuesdays & Wednesdays each week. For those candidates that live outside the commutable distance to TFC and in any of our approved remote work locations, this role will be primarily remote. Remote or onsite, we are committed to ensuring you are fully engaged and included in our collaborative environment.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Lead High-Risk Member Reviews: Conduct thorough initial and ongoing due diligence investigations for high-risk members, ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
- Mitigate Financial Crime Risk: Detect and assess suspicious activity, recommend monitoring controls, and support de-risking strategies to protect the credit union.
- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert: Provide guidance on high-risk industries, typologies, and member behavior to internal teams and external partners.
- Coach and Mentor: Support the development of Due Diligence Investigators by sharing expertise and offering coaching on investigative best practices.
- Prepare Detailed Case Reports: Document findings and make recommendations to managers and risk officers regarding high-risk member activity.
- Drive Program Enhancements: Lead or contribute to special projects that improve the due diligence program and ensure alignment with evolving regulations.
