You Will:
- Procurement/Sourcing:
- Lead procurement activities for the battery commodity team, including supplier identification, selection, and negotiation of contracts and pricing agreements.
- Implement procurement strategies to optimize cost, quality, and delivery of battery cells.
- Manage the procurement process from RFQ through purchase order issuance, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Evaluate supplier performance against key performance indicators (KPIs) and assist senior GSMs with implementation of corrective actions as necessary.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand technical requirements and specifications, aligning procurement activities with engineering objectives.
- Maintain accurate records of supplier interactions, procurement transactions, contracts, and supplier agreements to ensure knowledge transfer over time
- Commodity Analysis:
- Gather and analyze data on raw material trends, cell manufacturing processes, and emerging technologies within the lithium-ion battery commodity space.
- Develop commodity-specific presentations to communicate insights and analysis to internal stakeholders, including executives, engineering teams, and strategic partners.
- Stay informed about industry developments, regulatory changes, geopolitical factors and market dynamics affecting the battery commodity space.
- Collaborate with senior and staff global supply managers to assess risks and opportunities within the commodity market and develop strategies to mitigate risks and capitalize on opportunities.
- Support the development of long-term commodity strategies aligned with the company's growth objectives and technological advancements in the EV industry.
- Travel:
- 10-20% to visit suppliers to address critical supply issues and participate in business and program reviews
You Bring:
- Core Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, Supply Chain, Finance, or related discipline. Equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Minimum 2-4 years of Purchasing, Supply Chain or Engineering experience preferable in automotive industry.
- Outstanding visual presentation skills, including creation and delivery.
- Enthusiasm and curiosity for understanding the in-scope manufacturing processes on Product launch experience preferred with a high emphasis on knowledge of quality principles, product development processes, and data analysis.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with a team-first mindset that creates a vibrant, cohesive environment
