About the role

The Gartner Global Safety & Security (GSS) team is seeking an experienced global physical security crisis management and intelligence professional. This role requires someone highly adept at anticipating the needs of the global safety & security team, partners and stakeholders, and associates and proactively engaging in response and process improvements. The ideal candidate will demonstrate competency and expertise in the life cycle of intelligence and crisis management early warning to response to continuity of operations. This role also includes management of the global security governance and project management program including experience with policy development, cross-functional alignment, and vendor management.

Sr. Manager, Security Risk Management: Crisis Management, Intelligence and Governance

  • Crisis Management Program

    • Provide continual and proactive input and guidance for program and process improvements.

    • Develop and implement enterprise and regionally specific processes;

    • Continually develop CMT members and corporate stakeholder relationships, and their roles and responsibilities and engage with them on improvements.

    • Provide training, guidance, and mentorship of the embedded Crisis Management and Intelligence Analyst.

    • Coordinate and execute ongoing crisis management training and exercises (including materials, scheduling, etc);

    • Coordinate crisis management response actions and after-action reports and improvements.

    • Manage tools and vendors that support intelligence and crisis response.

  • Global Security Risk Intelligence and Travel Security Programs

    • Support the strategic and tactical program development.

    • Manage ad-hoc intelligence requests for assessments (scoping, assigning, delivering, etc.);

    • Seek out opportunities to provide intelligence to the business.

    • Benchmark with industry peers and relevant intelligence groups on impactful incidents, best practices, vendors & tools, etc.

  • Governance and Project Management Program

    • Development, coordination and alignment of GSS policies, procedures, protocols, frameworks, plans, guidelines, playbooks, templates and processes (supporting documentation, tracking, etc.);

    • Ongoing governance gap analysis, review of control requirements, and testing to ensure GSS processes and procedures provide expected outcomes.

    • Ongoing development GSS processes, goals and deliverables (risk register, capability maturity modeling, process and stakeholder mapping, knowledge base development, stakeholder engagement, etc.) including KPIs to track performance and identify improvements.

    • Oversight on GSS team schedule; team calendar; ensuring sufficient resource allocation.

    • Coordinate and manage GSS projects within the team, across the business, and with vendors.

 Experience, Qualifications, and Skills

  • This role requires occasional work on nights and weekends to support current crises as needed; will require being on-call for potential emergency response at least once per month.

  • Proficiency in and knowledge of products and services that support global intelligence, crisis management and response, and travel security.

  • Ability to interact professionally and effectively present complex information to an audience that may be unfamiliar with the subject matter.

  • Proven ability to navigate complex business partnerships and stakeholder relationships.

  • Ensures accountability and execution of processes and programs.

  • Enthusiastic, positive, creative, self-motivated, open to feedback

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Excellent analytical skills and demonstrated ability to solve problems.

  • Must demonstrate the ability to be flexible and adapt to changing priorities.
