Business Unit Introduction –
Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance: This role is part of the Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance team. This team is focused on monitoring and assessing processes that guide Blue Origin’s design, manufacturing, and operations, ensuring system safety engineering, environmental health, and safety, product integrity, and continuous improvement processes.
As part of a hardworking team of diverse specialists, technicians, and engineers, you will perform a variety of tasks to support manufacturing, production, logistics, or facilities functions and is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations within a fast-paced facility. May operate small machinery, assist with dis/assembly, move/pack materials, and perform minor preventative maintenance while maintaining a clean and safe work area. Completes standard setups/changeovers per documented steps and may perform running adjustments as directed.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Review planning/engineering, work instructions and tooling to verify appropriate work process and quality requirements before starting job.
- Perform accurate and timely completion of all job order documentation and associated paperwork, part counts, tie-in information, etc.
- Provide other help around shop, such as sweeping/mopping, taking out trash, etc.
- Shop Maintenance Duties including calibration focal, crane operator, cleaning of film processors in NDT booth, staging and delivery of parts to other workcenters, placement of hardware near assets in order of priority, ability to learn and train in pre-penetrant etch,
- Assist in using equipment such as hand trucks, Forklift etc.
- Work with team members and others using Lean/Continuous Improvement processes to develop and utilize process improvements that positively impact operations by reducing waste, reducing safety risks and improving quality.
- Perform other tasks as directed by Supervision/Management including but not limited to assisting non-production plant and administrative tasks.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma.
- Experience in an aerospace manufacturing facility preferred.
- Able to perform mid-level math skills efficiently and accurately (including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, fraction and decimals).
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as work orders, drawings, internal and customer specifications, manuals, and safety regulations.
- Ability to utilize interpersonal and communication techniques, working in a team environment, and dealing with a wide variety of personalities and communication styles.
- Familiar with use of personal computers.
- Self-motivation and ability to prioritize projects to meet completion dates.
- Must be physically able to climb ladders, stairs, work in small/restricted areas, and lift and carry 25 lbs.
- Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with crane lifts.
- Experience operating heavy lifting equipment such as cranes and forklifts.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to adapt to change (positive or negative).
- Ability to accept criticism and deal calmly and effectively with stressful situations.
