About the role
The Opportunity:
In this role, you will report to the Territory Area Manager and will work closely with the Avantor’s Advanced Laboratory Services professionals to serve our customers by performing customized, mission-based lab work and research protocols that help return time back to science.
Location: Rensselaer, NY
Shift: Monday–Friday, first shift
Salary: $80,000/yr
Work Arrangement: Hybrid — two days per week onsite and three days remote
Candidates must live within commuting distance of Rensselaer, NY.
This position is not fully remote.

What we’re looking for
Education
High school diploma or GED required.
Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Business Analytics, Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations Management, or a related field preferred.
Equivalent combinations of education and relevant professional experience will be considered.
Experience and Qualifications
3+ years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, inventory management, supply chain, procurement, or related operational environments.
Proven ability to analyze inventory, purchasing, order management, and operational performance data to drive business decisions.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including PivotTables, Power Query, complex formulas, and large dataset analysis.
Experience developing Power BI dashboards, data models, KPI reporting, and automated operational reports.
Working knowledge of SQL; experience with Snowflake, SAP, ERP, inventory management, or similar business systems preferred.
Skilled in integrating and validating data from multiple sources while ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
Experience creating KPIs, forecasting models, exception reporting, and actionable business recommendations.
Strong understanding of data governance, master data management, reporting controls, and data quality standards.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to present complex data insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work independently in a regulated, customer-focused environment.
Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy, compliance, and continuous improvement.
Experience supporting audits, process improvement initiatives, and operational reporting preferred.
Self-driven, adaptable, and proactive in identifying opportunities to improve processes and business outcomes

Avantor’s Advanced Laboratory Services team is a crucial part of the Avantor Services group serving over 500 customers in biopharma, pharmaceutical, educational, industrial, and high-tech industries with customizable, flexible solutions and end-to-end laboratory operations support. In this role you will:
Analyze and interpret complex inventory, procurement, and operational data to drive decision-making and improve performance.
Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards, automated reports, data models, and KPI tracking tools.
Monitor inventory health, supplier performance, service levels, stock availability, and operational metrics while identifying trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
Optimize inventory strategies through demand planning, PAR level analysis, replenishment modeling, and excess/obsolete inventory reduction.
Ensure data integrity through governance, auditing, validation, and exception-based reporting processes.
