Nursing Quality Director, Mount Sinai International-Corporate-Full-Time

 Mount Sinai International, LLC (“MSI”) has created a line of consulting, education, training and clinical services and co-branded products and services whereby it seeks to leverage the collective expertise and experience of the Mount Sinai faculty and staff and the intellectual property with respect to protocols, policies and procedures and provide medium and long-term collaborative relationships with external clients across the globe. These programs provide the opportunity for increased revenue to the institution through targeted consulting engagements with public and private institutions abroad. MSI is responsible for implementing, managing and growing these strategic international relationships. 

Under the guidance of the Medical Director of Mount Sinai International, and in collaboration with other MSI team members and Mount Sinai Health System (“MSHS”) experts, the Nursing Quality Director will be overseeing Clinical Quality and Patient Safety Initiatives with strategic partner organizations around the globe.

1. Management of Quality and Patient Safety Engagements 

  • Timely reporting of all aspects of each engagement to the Medical Director of Mount Sinai International, maintaining close communication with all key members of the MSI team.
  • Create quality and safety collaboration schedules with partner organizations
  • Engage and collaborate with Mount Sinai faculty and staff subject matter experts 
  • Ensure successful and timely implementation of collaboration schedules by Mount Sinai expert teams 
  • Track and record the outcome of collaborations 
  • Develop suggestions to enhance Mount Sinai expert team performance
  • Handle project issues and problems as they arise 
  • Collaborate with appropriate MSI personnel to manage client invoicing, faculty payments for related activities
  • Participate in strategic planning for MSI

 

2. Affiliate Quality and Patient Safety Data Sharing and Analysis Collaborates with the Medical Director of MSI to:

  • Identify, collect, and analyze key quality and patient safety metrics for MSI’s affiliates 
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and action-items for proposal to MSI’s affiliates
  • Monitor and test changes (improvements) to measure the impact of quality and safety initiatives 
  • Develop performance improvement plans for proposal and implementation by MSI’s affiliates

3. Maintains working knowledge of current quality improvement practices and international hospital accreditation requirements (e.g. Joint Commission International)

4. Conducts quality and patient safety gap assessments and surveys at client and affiliate organizations, under the guidance of the Medical Director, MSI 

  • Develops written reports as required 
  • Proposes opportunities for improvement and MSI advisory/consulting services

5. Assist in Management of Staff in areas deemed necessary by the Medical Director of Mount Sinai International

  • Guide and oversee research and analysis conducted by faculty and staff, on topics such as demographics and disease data, local market conditions and healthcare trends, competition, hospital performance data, and MSI performance on client engagements
  • Guide and oversee the preparation of written reports, including proposals, project updates, annual project reviews, site visit reports and presentations
  • Organize and participate in MSI staff training and mentorship
  • Participate in annual evaluations and performance reviews of direct reports, as needed

6. Relationship Management 

  • Develop and maintain relationships with the quality and safety leadership of international partner organizations
  • Develop and maintain relationships with Mount Sinai faculty, staff and other quality and safety experts, as required for international projects

International travel is required.

  • Bachelor of Science, Nursing
  • Current New York State RN, NP or P.A. or allied health professional licensure/certification/CPHQ preferred           
  • 5-years of demonstrated expertise in her/his clinical practice area and 3-years senior management within a nursing/hospital environment 
    • Intimate knowledge of US best practices and Mount Sinai systems in clinical quality and patient safety is required.
