Reporting to the Senior Manager, Blackline, Account Reconciliations, and Period End Close, the full-time position of Supervisor, Account Reconciliations and Period End Close, Retail, is responsible for managing both internal and outsourced resources. This position also collaborates with individuals in various departments across Nutrien's global operations.
What you will do:
- Manage both an internal team of accountants and the outsource team
- Support of the development, implementation, and calculation of Allocation methodologies and communications with stakeholders
- Support of the development, implementation, consistent application, and updating of Allocation and Period End Close governance protocols and policies
- Oversee and/or review, day-to-day accounting and month-end close processes; system processes; Prepaid Expense, Accrual, and Debt (interest/fair value amortization) journal entries; GR/IR; Cost Allocations; related variance analysis; and account reconciliations
- Oversee the transition of tasks/processes from other departments, ie: Accounting Center of Excellence, to the internal and outsourced teams
- Oversight of monthly closing responsibilities including provision of financial reports for the Retail business unit
- Oversight of quarterly commentary for external reporting deliverables
- Oversight of information requests from external and internal auditors
- Oversight of data provided to Tax to utilize in reporting and analysis
- Support on-going initiatives and projects as required
- Ensure defined KPI’s and SLAs are met
- Apply effective people leadership skills leading a team through performance management and career development including coaching members on achieving goals and developing necessary skills
What you will bring:
- Bachelor's Degree in Commerce, Accounting, or similar field
- CPA/CA/CMA/CGA designation
- 3+ years of accounting experience
- Detailed knowledge of IFRS
- Experience with a large ERP (Oracle, PeopleSoft, SAP)
- Proficiency in Microsoft office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint)
- Attention to detail while also having a broad conceptual understanding of the application of accounting and materiality in a multifaceted business environment
- Ability to effectively prioritize, complete and manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously
- Strong interpersonal, analytical, planning, and written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally on complex issues, driving to timely resolutions
- Ability to think broadly and approach situations with a continuous improvement mindset
- Sound, professional judgment
- Flexibility to adapt to changing business needs
Compensation & Benefits:
Salary Range $77,600 - $106,700 annually. This range is estimated for Supervisor, Account Reconciliations & Period End Close, Retail role in Loveland, Colorado. Actual salary and benefits may differ based upon location.
