Today, we stand strong as Europe’s leading online pet platform, delivering moments of happiness to more than 9 million pet parents each year.</p><h3>Job Description</h3><p>As <strong>Team Lead Operations Research (all genders)</strong> you help our organization make better decisions by leveraging data analytics and quantitative modeling together with the team. To do so, you are able to effectively capture various decision-making situations into well-defined mathematical problems consisting of objective functions, decision variables, and constraints. You can also systematically analyze the decision-making context and identify barriers that need to be addressed to achieve our goals. Additionally, you advise and consult departmental heads and C-level executives on analytical problems to create value, improve growth, and maximize business efficiency and profitability.</p><p><strong>Your tasks:</strong></p><ul><li>Identify, initiate, and execute high-value operational efficiency improvement and structural development projects</li><li>Provide guidance to the organization on development and improvement of high-level KPIs</li><li>Review, develop, and improve paradigms, concepts, and algorithms used for decision making</li><li>Lead and develop the team, provide support and guidance when needed</li><li>Ensure the right staffing of the team and having the necessary competencies on board to fulfill described tasks and company goals</li><li>Prioritize projects and assign tasks and projects to team members</li></ul><h3>Qualifications</h3><ul><li>At least a Master’s degree with a strong quantitative focus, e.g., Operations Research, Data Science, (Applied) Mathematics, Engineering, Physics, Business administration, Economics, etc.</li><li>PhD in Operations Research is an advantage</li><li>+6 years of experience in Operations Research or comparable role</li><li>Profound experience in mathematical modelling and problem solving, including effective usage of solver engines like CPLEX, Gurobi, GAMS, etc.</li><li>Highly developed skills in SQL and Excel for quick initial analyses</li><li>Experience in managing and leading a team</li><li>Fluent in English; German or other European languages are a plus</li></ul><h3>Additional Information</h3><p>With more than 1,000 passionate professionals located across 10 European offices, we believe our success comes from working together and leveraging our international strengths.
